General Motors: More and more 4-cylinder engines

Reduce consumption of these days is becoming a must for the Americans, historically accustomed to the six-cylinder engines with maxicilindrate onwards. But caropetrolio includes even the overseas friends, so here that General Motors is found to meet the growing increase in demand for motor fuel more sedate and less bulky.

Recently, in fact, the demand for 4-cylinder engine has undergone a boom in America, so the manufacturers have found to sell more units endothermic more European-style, fuel consumption and reduced CO2 emissions, but without sacrificing engine performance through more pushed. Direct injection, fuel increasingly sophisticated, elaborate systems of control valves and turbocharging are the ingredients for this success recipe, so that is starting to taste even across the ocean.

How this increased demand? Take any of the information in hand, in 2007 the four-cylinder engines built by Chevrolet covered 27% of sales, while today this figure has almost doubled, climbing to an eye-catching 46% more than the engine was decreed to be preferred for the Chevy . Farewell exaggerated V6 and V8 engines then? It's a little 'early to tell, but estimates seem to favor this hypothesis.

Wallets and thank environment.
