Geneva 2011: Chevrolet Camaro available in September

Chevrolet is in Geneva at the Motor Show (public days: 3-13.03.2011) before the new Camaro. It is built as a coupe and convertible and is available in September at select retailers in Germany. The 6.2-liter V8 engine with 432 HP is developing a torque of 569 Newton meters, the automatic version has 405 hp and 556 Nm.

The engine has the fuel-saving Active Fuel Management system from General Motors, which shuts off four cylinders at low engine load. The electronic stability control and traction control are standard equipment. To get on the track a high performance, can be adjusted also a "sport" mode.

An electronic starting device ("Launch Control") brings the power of the Camaro at the start to the road. The Camaro was designed from the beginning as a coupe and convertible planned and developed. The hood of the convertible opens electrically in 20 seconds. Similar to the Corvette, whose top part of a cooperation is made with the same manufacturer, it folds itself as simply "Z" together.
