Geneva 2011: Ford shows the world premiere of the B-Max

Ford celebrated on the eve of the Geneva Motor Show (1st-03.13.2011) the world premiere of the B-Max. The new model on the C platform has a body concept, which dispenses with conventional B-pillar and is characterized by rear doors on both sides. This near-production study provides a first idea of a completely new vehicle format.

The B-Max is based on the study presented in 2009, the iosis Max B-Max offers a vehicle of this size an unusually generous-sized space in combination with a wide variety. The use of particularly high quality materials further underscores the message that small, practical cars, no doubt, in terms of comfort and equipment can meet high standards.

With an exterior length of almost four meters, surpassing the five-door Fiesta at just eleven inches, the larger, new Ford C-Max separate him full 32 inches. This dimensioning of the Ford B-MaxAX is perfectly positioned to specifically meet in busy urban areas, rapidly growing demand for vehicles that combine a compact footprint with a sovereign proportioned space and offer comfort in the interior.

The key elements of the B-Max is one of the unique body structure. It is completely integrated B-pillars that connect the roof to the vehicle floor, and reaches a level of comfort and flexibility, as in the small car segment is still unknown. The pages can be customized with the conventionally hung front doors or open the rear sliding doors almost completely.

Among the design elements of the concept car is one of the new, powerful interpretation of the trapezoidal lower grille which is for the current series so characteristic of Ford. Eye-five distinctive chrome strips. Below gives a further, additional in glossy black remote air intake of the entire front end stability and underline the sporty appearance of the B-Max.

The rear window extends to the side lot. The slender rear lights are shared by the tailgate and remember the S-Max. The B-Max is driven, among others, a 1-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost. This nearly production-ready fuel direct injection, which was presented last year at the Beijing Motor Show at the start of the study concept combines the first time, three-cylinder with a total displacement of only 1.0 liters, and automatic start-stop system.
