Geneva 2011: Jaguar XKR-S reaches 300 km / h

Jaguar is at the Motor Show in Geneva (public days: 3-03.13.2011) of the XKR-S. The performance of the 5.0-liter supercharged engine was increased in the model compared to the XKR by 40 PS to 405 kW / 550 hp, so that the car 300 km / h maximum speed achieved. An active exhaust system thereby offers a race-inspired sound.

From zero to 100 km / h, the XKR-S accelerates in 4.4 seconds. He is also according to the manufacturer's sole representative of its class with CO2 emissions below 300 grams per kilometer. In addition to purely stylistic changes in the Jaguar XKR-S extensive numerical simulations was carried out in order to increase its maximum safe to 300 km / h..

The calculated changes in these tests reduced lift on the front and rear by more than a quarter and provided a further optimized aerodynamic lateral stability. Smaller LED headlamps, a more compact main air inlet and vertical side air outlets characterize the modified front end. The separate rear wing of the XKR-S provides a good balance between the lift on the front and rear axle.

The Jaguar XKR-S can be ordered at a price of 129 900 euros now. (Ampnet / jri)
