Geneva: Toyota back to the sport with the FT-86 II

It's called FT-86 and II is the concept with which Toyota at the Geneva Motor Show 2011 dusts off the sports car segment ahead with this style and shape models that we will see probably the next few years. Aim to revive the feats of the past since the 60s with the legendary Toyota 2000 GT to the most recent Toyota Supra.

Created by ED2, European study of the manufacturer's design according to the principle of a "functional beauty", the FT-86 II concept is a coupe with a short wheelbase (length 4.23 m, 1.27 m wide 1.79 high me with a wheelbase of 2.57 m) compact lines and aggressive. As reflected in many details: the front bumper which is dominated by an impressive air intake, dual exhaust with chrome to the side skirts and rear baffle that channels the airflow underneath the car body.

From the press release the car is powered by a gasoline engine rear-wheel drive that you do not yet know the specific (referred to as a 2-liter, 200 horsepower), but will be accompanied by a manual 6-speed compact and lightweight. The production model - the concept was developed by Toyota in collaboration with Fuji Heavy Industries (Subaru) - should debut in Europe in 2012.
