Japan Highway rebuilt in just six days

In the rest of the world is a miracle, but in Japan it is reality. In just six days the engineers and workers Nexcare (the company that manages the road network) have been able to restore a stretch of highway was devastated by the earthquake of 11 March. The road surface appeared letterlamente open in two, with deep chasms also several meters.

Since this was a way of communication nerve center for the country being located in the area north of Tokyo, it was necessary to reopen as soon as possible. So on March 17, less than a week after the earthquake, the road was perfect with a new road surface and even with a new guard rail.

The Nexcare explains that there are about 813 to 870 kilometers reopened to traffic on 20 different roads and highways, but with actions buffer or "jump" lanes. Note that the company had to repeat several times some repairs, because of the aftershocks that have damaged the track again in many places.

The Japanese government confirms its commitment to the reconstruction, which has become the new priorities of the executive: "rebuild our country from the ground up." The estimated damage to infrastructure, industrial plants and buildings would amount to 25 thousand billion yen, or approximately € 220 billion (at current exchange rates).
