Lamborghini LP 700-4 Aventador: Raging Bull

The debut of a new 12-cylinder Lamborghini always marks the beginning of a new era in the super sports car segment. It could not be otherwise for the Aventador last creature born from the factory in Sant'Agata Bolognese, which takes its name from the resounding of a brave bull in 1993, after a hard and bloody fighting in the arena of Zaragoza, won the "The Trofeo de la Peña Madroñera" for being the bravest bull during the bullfight.

With Aventador LP 700-4, Lamborghini redefines the world of super sports cars, thanks to new limits achieved by the supercar. Limits that are highlighted by its brutal power, the lightness of the carbon shell and the latest generation of mechanics fine, all combined with an attractive design, capable of cutting off your breath away.

For the Casa del Toro, Aventador represents a leap into the future, but at the same time following that thread that ties with the glorious history of the brand. The technology package Aventador Lamborghini LP700-4 is unique. The DNA of the new super Lambo is bringing an innovative monocoque frame made of carbon fiber that combines exceptional engineering skills to the highest levels of rigidity and safety.

4.78 meters long, 2.26 wide (including mirrors) and 1.13 m high only, the LP700-4 Aventador seems sculpted by the wind, and its pointed shape that extends in a car body very low, dynamic, give a stunning visual impact that expresses personality and power comparable to that of a fighter plane.

Every aesthetic detail of the car was designed with a clear aerodynamic function, the bold lines and cuts designed to cut through the air kidnap the eye, invading the minds and leave us breathless. The Aventador could be called a true work of art that can express excite even while you admire.

Aesthetically, there are clear stylistic references to the design of the Reventon, the concept Sixth Element, presented at the last Paris Motor Show, and the Estoque sports sedan, which the designers were inspired by Lamborghini, especially in the taillights. The interior of Aventador combines luxury, exclusivity, high technology and art facilities.

The materials used for interior trim, console and door panels are a classic example of sportsmanship craftsmanship. The driving position is reminiscent of a military jet: Behind the beautiful, three-spoke steering wheel hides the dashboard features an LCD screen that contains the most information della'automobile.

At the center of the bridge there is another aluminum screen size larger study for the control of satellite navigation, audio hi-fi system and to review the data on electronic climate control. The heart of Aventador is a twelve-cylinder engine displaces 6.5 liters capable of unleashing 700 hp on a car from the dry weight of just 1,575 kg.

The incredible power to weight ratio of just 2.25 kg per hp gives acceleration from 0-100 km / h in just 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 350 km / h. Despite this incredible performance, Aventador lowers fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by about 20% compared to the Murcielago, despite the power increase (+8%).

The 700 hp are downloaded on a permanent four wheel drive with torque distribution between the front and the rear is via a Haldex electronically controlled transfer case, which in a few milliseconds, adjusting the allocation according to the needs of the moment. The transmission used is the unprecedented change ISR (Independent Shifting Rods) is a 7-speed robot equipped with steering wheel controls and twin-disc clutch, hydraulically driven, capable of reducing the shift times by 50% compared to a conventional transmission with double clutch.

The technology used to develop the handling of Aventador seems to set new limits to mainstream physics. The sophisticated suspension system with double triangle are made entirely of forged aluminum alloy and uses push-rod type shock absorbers, "borrowed" from those used on Formula One. Öhlins shock absorbers made by using a hydraulic lifting system that called for raising the profile of 40 mm of the car if bumpy, to avoid "touching" the ground with the nose of the car.

Another landmark of this supercar is the chassis made of fiber reinforced CRFP, the result of work done in compression that guarantees a better resistance in case of an accident, but is also extremely light with a weight of 147.5 kg. At the front and back of the monocoque of the mounts were mounted in aluminum for the work on the V12 engine, the 7-speed gearbox and sophisticated suspension with push-rod.

As a whole the system chassis weighs just 229.5 kg, but at the same time gives a torsional rigidity of 35,000 Nm, a value unprecedented if you think that that offered by the Murcielago is only 20,000 Nm Harnessing a wild bull as the summer Aventador not easy for this Lamborghini engineers have developed a brake system equipped with the latest carbon-ceramic brakes with ventilated 400 mm front discs with 6-piston calipers, while the rear measuring 380 mm and well are "bitten" by 4 pins.

The large drives emerge from tires measuring 255/35 (front) wheels coupled to a black 19-inch wheels and 335/30 rear are matched to the giant 20-inch wheels. Lamborghini LP 700-4 Aventador will cost € 255,000 in European markets excluding taxes. The first units will be delivered from late summer 2011, we remember that the entire production of the first 12 months was already completely booked.
