PhoeniX Saab Concept: This is the future

The PhoeniX Saab Concept debuts in Geneva that shows what will be the new styling of the Scandinavian brand that will draw the whole range of future models, beginning with my 2012 9-3. Created by Jason Castriota, head of Saab design, the Phoenix show that the House establish a design aeromozionale "inspired by Saab's aeronautical past, with teardrop shapes that recall the molten metal, the transparent roof like a jet, the wraparound glass surface and special side fins which optimize the management of air flow.

The engine is innovative with electric traction on the rear axle combined with a 1.6 engine with 200 horsepower that drives the front wheels. The front engine is complemented by the innovative system eXwd Saab, a unit of rear-wheel drive system which incorporates a motor / generator from 25 kW (34 hp) powered by a small battery pack.

The system offers three modes eXwd. Eco, for greater low emissions, Sport, providing the greatest assistance in electricity, and Traction for optimum grip on slippery surfaces. The result of this intelligent all-wheel drive hybrid fuel economy and reduced CO2 emissions, or 5 litres/100 km in combined cycle and 119 g / km.
