The Renault 5 will be back in 2014?

Renault also wants to explore the premium compact car segment with the launch in 2014 of a modern interpretation of the Renault 5 first series, the acclaimed French supermini launched in 1972, characterized by a series of innovative solutions concentrated in just over three meters and a half long. The success of small cars, and well decorated with a retro soul such as Mini, Fiat 500 and Citroen DS3 led the French leadership to study a new car features special details and offer a high level of customization that would fit for size between the next generations of Clio and Twingo.

Aesthetically, the new compact beyond the Alps should be oriented in a modern line of R5 70s combining it with luxury finishes and sporting events depending on the version chosen. The engine range will include a wide range of petrol and diesel and probably a top version equipped with a small turbocharged engine can provide at least 160 hp.

This version of pepper will aim to revive the glory days of the R5 Turbo, a car made famous in the 80s for being one of the best rally cars in its class. For now the project is still under investigation, but if the management of the House of the diamond were to give the green light, the new Renault 5 would arrive on our roads before 2014.
