Toyota Yaris HSD

It was a matter of time that the city of the Japanese added to its range of hybrid propellant engines. Toyota presents the 2011 Geneva Motor Show Concept HSD Yaris, which is the starting gun for the production of the hybrid version of the Yaris. Arrive in 2012. What do you think? Leave your comments, the most interesting will be published in the journal Hwy.

Alternatively, this news debate on our forums. Toyota's hybrid family is growing. Following the pioneering Prius and HSD brand new Auris, Yaris comes HSD: Japan Manufacturer bet for the urban sector as hybrids are concerned. The utility shows the world at the Geneva Motor Show 2011, where there have been environmental proposals.

Has been the arrival of the Hybrid Synergy Drive technology which has enabled Toyota to begin hybrid propulsion popularize and we knew that would soon give birth to the urban range. Thus, the stand of the brand is, if anything, greener than ever: the Yaris looks next to the Prius + and the electric version of Toyota iQ.

What we now arrive at the Swiss show is the 'concept' that will give way to a production model to market as scheduled for the second half of 2012. The Yaris comes in Geneva HSD ball gown, with a sporty look that is supposed to be diluted in the production variant. A generous air intake is imposed on the front and a diffuser in the rear spoiler.

LED daytime are also present in both the front and rear lights and 18-inch wheels. It also has several elements that only dare to show prototypes, such as cameras that replace rear-view mirrors or solar roof designed to power the air conditioning system. Toyota does not provide technical data for the time of its new hybrid offspring, but the fact that it bears the name HSD gives us many clues.

The mechanics not be far from that of their brothers and Auris Prius: a gasoline engine 1.8 VVT-i four-cylinder associated with a 98 hp electric engine, managed both by the change e-CVT.
