ZF factory to supply three million transmissions for BMW

The ZF transmission plant in Brandenburg an der Havel has built a total of three million car transmissions. BMW is currently running there for the 6-speed manual transmission from the second generation tape. Another product line made the 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox Porsche. Now the three-millionth unit in the form of a 6-speed manual transmission was made the second generation.

Standard reduces this newly developed transmission through the consumption of higher efficiency and a newly developed jet lubrication. It is also combined with a start-stop system. Since 2008, ZF produced in Brandenburg with the 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox (7DT) for Porsche also another technical highlight.

It is particularly suitable for sporting applications with high speed requirements. Technical base are two separate transmissions, which are about two parallel powershift clutches connected to the engine and allow a change of gear without interrupting traction.
