China: revocation of license for life for driving while intoxicated

Often we complain in Italy for some time that it was already lowered the maximum amount of grams per liter of alcohol in the blood. As we know in Italy this threshold is 0.5 g / l, but China will beat us by far, in fact last year amended the law on road safety to punish those who drive while intoxicated.

The Standing Committee of Chinese National People's Congress has approved an amendment to the law on road safety, according to which those driving under the influence of alcohol and should be because of an accident is considered a criminal. In China the license is revoked for life, without appeal, for anyone caught driving while intoxicated.

In 2008 in Italy, the then Interior Minister, Roberto Maroni, had proposed a bill that whoever was convicted of drug would have seen his license revoked for life. The standard however is not part of the new Highway Code which is now still more rigid than a few years ago, particularly against neo licensed.
