Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0: official data

Porsche has officially confirmed the 911 GT3 RS 4.0, after the first images appeared yesterday in the network. The most extreme of the 600 GT3 will be built in pieces inspired by the GT3 RSR in competition, from which it takes is some aerodynamic solutions, some components of the engine is increased to 4 liters aspirated, with forged pistons and titanium parts.

Capable of 500 hp at 8250 rpm and 460 Nm of torque at 5750 rpm, has a specific power of 125 hp per liter and can touch 100 km / h acceleration in 3.9 seconds and 200 km / h in less 12 seconds. The only available transmission is a 6-speed manual, with scale-specific performance optimization in circuit.

The GT3 RS 4.0 declares a weight of 1,360 kg, thanks to the use of carbon fiber hood and front fenders, streamlined interiors, surfaces, windows and seats in lightweight monocoque: the power to weight ratio then drops to 2.72 kg / hp . The new aerodynamics, with the stabilizers incorporated in the front bumper and large rear wing, ensures a pressure of 190 kg at full speed.

The new model was able to score a time of 7 minutes and 27 seconds on the Nurburgring track, against the 7:33 of the current GT3 RS 450 HP. The GT3 RS 4.0 will be given from the month of July 2011 to a European price of 178,596 euros including taxes (about 25,000 euros more than the GT3 RS 3.8): unknown number of cars for the Italian market, as well as the possible availability of other colors besides the white one with silver and red stripes of the official photos.
