Audi four-tron: the hybrid integral

Audio ePerfomance house project engineers have developed an interesting and innovative prototype called Audi and four-tron. This is a parallel hybrid, with plug-in technology, characterized by the combination of a combustion engine and an electric discharge power on the front and from that of a second electric motor that moves the rear axle, dividing the power on both wheels.

In this way you get an innovative all-wheel drive electric part, capable of high potential. The hybrid system and parallel-tron is based on the 2.0-liter TFSI engine heat, located under the front bonnet and capable of 211 hp and 350 Nm of torque, delivered in a consistent manner between 1500 and 4200 rpm.

Immediately behind the gasoline engine is located an electric permanent magnet synchronous type, capable of downloading 45 more hp and 211 Nm of torque. The electric motor and the combustion are both connected to a 4-speed automatic transmission with a dry clutch operated electronically; in this way the whole group can move the front axle.

For electric power the funeral will take care of a lithium ion battery 9.4 kWh, of which 6.5kWh are available for use. To recharge can also be used in a normal household power outlet for 230 V, with an estimated charging time of about two hours. In everyday driving, the four-tron and exploits especially the front-wheel drive hybrid system, but if you need more power, as in rapid acceleration, the engine positioned on the rear axle comes into operation, ensuring maximum efficiency and safety.

If you wish to use only the electric drive, the hybrid 4x4 German can touch a maximum speed of 100 km / h, with a range of 40 km. In the case of overtaking maneuvers and demanding fast, electric motors provide a total of 110 hp (only for short stretches) that are additional to those of the 2.0-liter TFSI engine - which usually makes the most of the work - getting so a total of 314 hp.
