On eBay a BMW M1 with less than 5,000 km

A classic, that after 33 years retains its fascination. The BMW M1 was presented at the Paris Salon of 1978 and is the pima road car designed entirely in the sports department BMW Motorsport. Low, wide, sleek, super mechanics from the M1 was created to participate in competitions reserved for powerful cars Group 4 and 5, whose regulations require the use of models constructed in two places at least 400 specimens.

The M1 produced from 1978 to 1981 are 445: 399 maps and 46 of the special series "Proc. It is now a rare and precious, but those interested in having a garage can go on eBay. Its odometer marks just 4,418 kilometers and is currently in the U.S. to Germany after spending his first 25 years of life. Three days after the date of the auction bids exceeded the 150 thousand dollars. Figure set to rise to a sports doc like this, with 6-cylinder engine of 3,500 cc in-line mounted longitudinally in a central location.

The power is in the order of 277 hp, pushing the car to over 260 kilometers per hour. With sports gearbox ZF, the dual disc dry clutch and limited slip differential to 40%, is fun, especially along curves of a snake. The maximum power output is between 5000 and 7000 revolutions per minute and get to 100 per hour from a standing start in 5.6 seconds is a great satisfaction.

The chassis and suspension are designed sport: the first is tubular, covered by plastic body (designed by Giugiaro) reinforced with glass fibers, the latter are wishbones both front and rear stabilizer bars with two . The more "monstrous" race of M1 Group 5 is the version with twin-turbo engine from which the German tuner Schnitzer managed to squeeze over 1000 hp.
