Germany: if gasoline rises to 10 euro per liter ...

It happened in the town of Filderstadt, near Stuttgart, Germany: last Easter Monday a gas station sold petrol at the amazing price of 9.99 € per liter. The German news site The Local reported that the price increase in Esso was decided after the fuel shortages nationwide. In the Stuttgart area a station out of five has not been supplied with petrol on Monday afternoon because of traffic in the Easter holidays, the prohibition of transit of the fuel tanks and caused logistical problems for companies with the introduction of E10 ethanol fuel .

Despite warning signs on the pumps, several customers have used them to fuel their cars and finding a very unpleasant surprise when you go to the checkout. In one of them were asked to € 209.98 for 21 gallons of gasoline placed in his BMW, while another driver was just under € 200 for 20 gallons of fuel.

The customers, angry, refused to pay the bills and warned the police. The law enforcement have, however, advised not to pay off the debt run into a complaint from the service station and to resolve the situation following a compromise with the company. The owner of the pump has not issued any statement on the matter.

Rainer Hillgärtner, spokesman for the Auto Club Europe, said that this case resembles the mechanism frighteningly black market.
