Mercedes-Benz Class A: to be so

The future Mercedes-Benz A-Class waiting already for next year, will be very similar to the concept car unveiled at the Vision Show in Shanghai. The major changes relate to the glass surfaces, the headlights, the front cooling vents. And then will have five doors instead of three provided in the Vision A.

But the lines external characteristics remain those expressed by the concept. Well as the interior, with the aircraft-style, the big screen at the center of the dashboard and the ability to download applications in real time to update the functionality of the system software infotainmant.

Much attention will be given to the quality of materials and assembly perfection to reach the levels of the most prestigious Class C. The next generation of Class A will then have the long bonnet, a sporty silhouette and sleek profile. Inaugurate a new era for the compact car segment in terms of design and technology.

The car, front-wheel drive, will be equipped with a four-cylinder gasoline engine of the new M270 series. Designed for mounting cross, thanks to direct injection and turbocharging, this engine wants to offer high performance with low emissions and fuel consumption. Currently, under the hood of the Concept Class A lies two-liter version of the new BlueEFFICIENCY engine, 155 kW (210 bhp), combined with the new dual-clutch gearbox Mercedes-Benz.

In its world premiere in the compact segment, the Concept A-Class also has a collision warning radar system integrated into the Adaptive Brake Assist, which reduces the risk of possible collisions. This system of driver assistance, through visual and audible signals, alert the driver of the risk of collision and prepares the Brake Assist to provide adequate stopping power that becomes available as soon as the driver presses the brake pedal.
