The Chevrolet Volt and Nissan Leaf with gratifying results have exceeded the crash test organized by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), American Institute founded by some of insurance companies with the aim of improving road safety. Both have received the maximum grade on tests of frontal impact, side, rear and rollover, winning the adjective "good" that represents the most satisfactory result on a scale of four levels of courts.
IIHS's engineers have therefore treated the two cars to ordinary cars with internal combustion engine, showing the untruthfulness of concerns and fears associated with the use of batteries. But there's more.
