Google Street View, a "lost cause" in Germany

Google has decided to stop shooting for its Street View program in Germany. A decision is discussed since the Mountain View company said that "priorities are to use the Google car to get data such as street names and road signs to improve our base maps available to users, similar to what are other companies that deal with mapping the streets.

" And after Google sent its special machines equipped with cameras to map in 3D a score of German cities, it was decided to stop. Some cite the decision in phantom charges for violation of privacy that Google has received from citizens and mayors. In fact Google has just recently won a lawsuit that allows him to keep shooting the streets of the city so the mystery persists.

However filming already carried out by Google Street View for the program in Germany will be used. Meanwhile, Microsoft will begin to map the roads in Germany for his Street Side, a navigation service weblog Bing Maps. That there is some battle between giants in?
