Jaguar-Land: 40 new models by 2016

The number seems too optimistic, but is confirmed by sales manager Phil Popham. Jaguar and Land Rover will launch a total of "40 new models within the next 5 years, with the aim of broadening the range of access in both the segments and between the cars the most exclusive and prestigious. Auspicious than the best 20% (230,000 vehicles) registered in 2010 with a comparison to the disastrous 2009, when the miasma of the crisis confined ambitions and expectations.

The British group lives in the first half of 2011 with the Evoque on the launching pad, which will probably be followed by a more compact SUV. "We are evaluating the opportunity to achieve the lower end of a car that costs 25,000 pounds (about 28,500 €, nda)" anticipated John Edwards, head of the Land Rover brand.

"At the moment there is nothing established. This is a simple expression of interest ". According to Edwards, there is also the possibility of creating high-end cars, replicating what has already been proposed by the Range Rover Ultimate Edition: This limited series, brought to almost € 140,000, was produced in 500 units compared to 100 planned in order to satisfy the significant and unexpected demand.

The range will debut in 2013 with new generation hybrid and electric motor, made more efficient following the remarkable work of relief which will save over 500 pounds in comparison with the current version. Increased uncertainty about the Jaguar plans. The introduction of the 2.2 diesel engine will allow the XF to double its sales, while the XJ 3.0 diesel engine is destined for China, Russia and the Middle East.

Not yet confirmed XF wagon, in contrast to the often cited sedan segment D.
