Peugeot: a new crossover in Shanghai

If the auto market in the Old Continent is suffering far too long the economic crisis, recording numbers less exciting, the reality shows on the contrary, China has for several months of being perhaps the only locomotive in the world. This is why the big European brands have started a few years now, those who after the first, to make his way in a market which has enormous potential for growth and volumes.

In this sense, the alliance is no exception Peugeot-Citroen to the next exhibition in Shanghai 2011 will present the concept of an SUV / crossover. Aim is precisely to extend the range of Peugeot models after 307, 308, the smallest 207 (in current version), but also the Peugeot 408 and 508, the latter now close to commercialization.

A further step for the House of Leo considering that Citroen has already introduced its own in China, the C4 hatch registering good sales performance, followed by the C5 sedan. In this case it would be a new model, previewed, and responds to the strong local demand for new concept car, demonstrating that the Chinese market is becoming more demanding and less willing to buy cars from the old generation from the European stage.

According to rumors, the SUV concept was designed by the research and development center of Citroen in China, direct from a local team of engineers (all Chinese), the result of extensive training in place for several years by the same manufacturer.
