Saab: new temporary stop to the production

The Swedish manufacturer Saab had to stop production for lack of re-assembling the necessary components. The reason is a failure to pay a number of suppliers, which have consequently stopped shipping materials. The same thing had already happened last week for a period of 3 days. The stated objective for 2011 is still holding to sell 80,000 cars and 120,000 in 2012, against 30,000 last year.

Figures ambitious, therefore, that however was not convinced by the automotive industry analysts, who began to wonder if the manufacturer can survive in the long run. Meanwhile, Spyker - the Dutch company at the end of February 2010 he bought Saab - is pushing for a former shareholder as Russia's Vladimir Antonov fall to serve on the board of directors.

Returning to stop production temporarily, a spokesman said it is just a liquidity problem, which should be resolved "soon" but did not indicate when. Meanwhile, negotiations are underway with suppliers to resume activity, although some of them are "cured" dall'inconveniente. The question is also addressed Victor Muller, CEO Spyker group-Saab says, adding that in future there may be further interruptions.

Meanwhile, Antonov - which holds shares of major banks in Lithuania and Latvia - have already made a request to participate in the equity of Saab (as a percentage less than the 30%) after having had a share of 29.9% in Spyker , sold at the insistence of General Motors.
