SsangYong Concept KEV2

Ssangyong KEV2 Concept presents the show in Seoul, a prototype electric-powered derivative of the new SUV Korando. The intent of Ssangyong, this model is a real expectation of a possible production version of which could reach markets in 2013: the KEV2 has an electric engine, 120 kW, powered by 35 Kwh lithium batteries, with a autonomy of 180 km and a maximum speed of 150 km / h.

Fully charge the batteries require 8 hours, while fast enough for that 30 minutes, but getting a lower range. According to previous indiscretions gathered on future projects of the Korean manufacturer, now owned by Mahindra, this platform with zero emissions could also be used for two new models of segment B and segment D, which certainly could be more successful in some markets with hybrid and electric versions .

Ssangyong is in fact also working on an electric platform EREV conceptually identical to the Chevrolet Volt.
