USA, Obama: "Only government fleets to alternative fuels by 2015"

Barack Obama, as reported by the New York Times, announced a new measure which is part of the plan for modernization of U.S. energy policy: the President of the United States, in addition to measures which will lead to the production of energy "clean" electricity, reducing dependence on foreign oil, increased domestic production of ethanol and the promotion of natural gas for vehicles, will take an initiative in 2015 that the government will only purchase cars powered by alternative fuels.

The measure, by itself, certainly can not have a significant impact on reducing environmental impact, but is undoubtedly an announcement by the strong symbolic value. Its effectiveness in concrete terms to be found watching the entire floor of the new U.S. energy policy. Obama wants to reduce one third of the imports of foreign oil by 2025 not only by increasing the draw on the national territory, but also counting on the cut of the average consumption of the U.S.

car fleet.
