Geneva 2011: The most economical Kia Rio needs only 3.2 liters

New standards in the small car will share with the new Kia Rio, which has in the Motor Show in Geneva (-13.3.2011) its world premiere. The emission poorest version has a fuel consumption to EU standard of only 3.2 liters per 100 kilometers and a CO2 emissions of 85 grams per kilometer. Unlike its predecessors, it will be the new addition to the Rio five-door version in a three-door version that was designed specifically for Europe.

The 4.05 meters long Rio with 288 liters of cargo volume in Europe from the third quarter of 2011 initially come as a five door model in the trade, the three-door version follows in the first quarter of 2012. Outside and inside lifts, the fourth-generation model significantly from the conventionally shaped predecessor.

The equipment and comfort elements include, depending on the models including keyless entry system with starter button, RDS CD Radio MP3 compatibility and AUX, iPod and USB port, Bluetooth hands-free front with speech recognition, cruise control, climate control, heated seats and heated steering wheel.

Also available are xenon projection-beam headlamps and cornering lights. The Kia Rio is offered with two petrol and two diesel engines. The three-and four-cylinder output between 51 kW / 70 PS and 80 kW / 109 PS. With the top engine of the small car accelerates in 11.5 seconds from zero to 100 km / h and reaches a top speed of 181 km / h.

By default, both diesel and the 1.4-liter gasoline engine with a six-speed manual transmission are combined, the 1.25-liter gasoline engine has a five-speed circuit. For the larger petrol engine will be offered an optional four-speed automatic transmission. For all versions of a start-stop system is available.
