Chris Harris EVO takes us on a tour to the McLaren MP4-12C: The performance of the new British supercar are definitely the highest level. It could not be otherwise given the importance of competition Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini. The latest McLaren demonstrates clearly different from what you might expect: it is spacious, comfortable, with a light but direct steering and communicative.
A perfect GT mode quieter engine and suspension. Even the latter react "sleepy" pandering to the wishes of the driver with the gearbox, precise and subtle change in the managed automatically. To raise the stakes need to set the suspension and engine on "Sport", by selecting the manual mode of transmission.
The throttle response and the sound suddenly changed. The steering does not undergo a metamorphosis at the same level but continues to be assisted in the right measure. But we're not at the levels of a 458 Italy. To impress is the capacity of absorption of the suspension even though the car remains very planted on the ground and does not show any kind of roll.
The frame becomes more playful allowing the tail to some waltz. We are at the levels of a F430 but with an incredible ride comfort for a car of this kind. But what happens in the "Track Mode" of chassis and engine? In this mode, the car is at its full potential in every point of view. The responses are swift and active chassis work trying to ensure maximum support to the feeling of driving attreverso a fine work on the response of the suspension, while any change becomes a shooting.
The electronic media are active stability and traction to a minimum. Cause the gas in this way means trying to manage it and have fun oversteer. The sound of the engine it is really sporty (but we think the 458 sounds better), while the momentum is exceptional. Ultimately have the MP4-12C is like having 3 sports cars in one: a comfortable GT, an intriguing sport, track-by ed'auto day.
The brake-steering provides sublime levels of grip and traction even on wet roads. And on the road the car seems to be even better level of performance by ensuring that places the second meter EVO, at the top of its category.
