Sync with Ford emergency call function

Ford will be supplemented in 2012, available at European Voice Control System Sync in addition to an emergency call function. In an accident, it identifies the exact position of the vehicle by it compares the GPS coordinates and maps of the integrated navigation system with the information of the connected mobile phone.

Then Sync is a connection to the local emergency center and to inform the rescue coordination center in the local language about the accident and the exact location. The emergency call function has Ford on the only system that delivers all rescue-related data and the exact position of the vehicle directly to the local emergency center - without taking the detour via a call or service centers and lose valuable time.

Sync can be specified by the manufacturer with twice as many aid stations in Europe in conjunction set than any other emergency service. Abroad, the automatic function takes the driver's feeling insecure, is not in an emergency to communicate in the language of the country or regional differences, emergency numbers, not to know.

While communication between the vehicle system and the emergency authority in the local language is, the inmates can still talk to Sync in the chosen language. All relevant information is transmitted acoustically to local rescuers. This ensures that the emergency is understood in each case.

Unlike other competitors, Ford offers the emergency call function without an additional mobile subscription. As part of the connected Sync via Bluetooth mobile phone of the driver or a passenger is being used. The system is activated automatically when a triggering of airbags or emergency shutdown of the fuel pump is active.

In some cases, sending an emergency call is unnecessary. The vehicle's occupants will receive an audible and visual indication in the chosen language and can cancel the automatic process. During the development of the emergency call feature Ford worked closely with the European Emergency Number Association (EENA), an organization to promote the European emergency number 112, together.

The system is currently still in the final testing phase. Sync is already available since 2007 in the United States and was installed in more than three million vehicles. In Europe, the voice control system next year, initially the focus will be available. (Ampnet / jri)
