Ford confirms a foreign manufacturer in Italy

For the month of March, Ford has been confirmed as the best-selling foreign car brand in Italy, with a market share of 9.4% thanks to the 17,718 units registered, rising to 47,941 if one considers the first quarter (market share of 9 , 3%). This figure is mainly due to the Ford Fiesta - which confirms the best-selling foreign car in the Peninsula - and the C-Max, which enters the top 10 best-selling diesel, if the utility were sold 20,573, the van they were marketed 6994, again considering the first quarter of 2011.

In March, car sales in Italy have fallen by 27.57% to an altitude of 187,687 units, with the Fiat group who scored less even a 31.92% to 55,072 cars. Although Ford remains the best-selling foreign brand, we can not forget the sales figures compared to 2010: less than 44.9% if one considers only March and 36.1% less when you consider the quarter January-February-March.

In second place among foreign manufacturers is Volkswagen, an improvement of 2.18%, the third and the Opel down 20.33. However, for car manufacturers operating in Italy, the real litmus test will be the month of April, which in 2010 was the first in which the influence of eco-incentives stopped state: according to the study center sponsor, may close this month break even or even slightly increasing, while an increase should be higher after the summer.

The Unrae, which brings together foreign importers in Italy, said that last March data on the earthquake and the tsunami in Japan did not have any weight, despite the freeze on production in Japan.
