He made his debut on the European markets the new generation of Volkswagen Crafter, multi-purpose commercial vehicle of Volkswagen improved aesthetic appearance and technical features, thanks to a more modern design, with the most ergonomic interior and the introduction of new TDI engines, now more powerful and yet less thirsty for fuel.
Aesthetically, the new Crafter is distinguished by its simple design and clean, characterized by bold strokes that grow horizontally, thus following the philosophy of style inaugurated by the German manufacturer of other business models such as the Caddy, the Amarok and T5 range. The front grille of the new Crafter unprecedented gains that develops harmoniously side by removing the headlamps, while a strip wedged between the bumper and grille adorns the lower surface of the front.
The new cockpit austere and functional gains new commands more intuitive design, while the materials are more resistant and the upholstery of the seats more comfortable. The new Crafter is available in variants with short wheelbase, medium and long and divided into three weight classes, 3.5 and 5 tons, in addition to include four different productions called Van, Kombi, Pickup Truck and Chassis.
The first two versions - and Kombi van - can be chosen with different heights of the roof as needed, also the construction "Van" offers the possibility to choose a major overhang of the body. Who needs to carry a large number of passengers may instead opt for the version "Hannover" Crafter that turns into a comfortable bus that can accommodate up to 19 passengers.
The new range of engines that equip the Crafter replaces the previous 2.5-liter turbodiesel with common rail diesel offering dall'inedito characterized by 2.0 liters - combined with a six-speed manual transmission - fitted with a supercharger and a turbocharger or two available in the power step of 109, 136 and 163 hp.
The new engines compliant with EU anti-pollution standards stricter Euro 5 and EEV exhaust gas, also the unpublished TDI reduce fuel consumption and emissions compared with previous engines of up to 33% while the maintenance costs reduction up to 25%. The use of engines has also allowed more light to increase the carrying capacity of up to 83 kg, while the trailer which can weigh up to 3.5 tonnes.
The range of the new Volkswagen Crafter part with the "van" available in a range of prices ranging from 28,179 to 43,327 €, the setting "Kombi" from 28,726 to 37.768euro and finally the version "Suspension" sold from 29,518 to 45,875 €. All prices include VAT and excellent 3-year warranty or 250,000 km journey.
