Volvo: an application for the iPhone and Android car remote management

Volvo has also developed an application for the iPhone and Android related to their cars. The software will help you stay in touch with their car, as long as it is a model year 2012 with the Volvo On Call system installed, thus paving the way for a series of developments and services that will be expanded in the future.

From the beginning, the system will function Car Locator, to find the car in a parking lot and the ability to activate horn and blinkers. You can also activate the central locking and window closing, as well as see the instrument panel in the remote to get information on fuel level, the time remaining, on average fuel consumption and mileage.

The application can also do a check up of the car, informing the user about the level of liquids and functionality of the sensors and will allow you to keep a sort of diary of the last 40 days, with travel data and the operation of car. The data can be extracted directly in Excel format, to optimize fleet management.

Obviously, the system will work even alarm, alerting you of a possible theft and will require medical care and roads (the functions already available in the On Call system), but above all the possibilities for future development to be of interest to the Swedish company: it is natural In fact, thinking about the future management of the charge for electric and hybrid versions, as already suggested by other manufacturers.
