AC Schnitzer ACS5 Sport 99D and S at the Geneva Motor Show

Lately, even the most important companies in the tuning are showing their spirit "green". To continue to break with their extreme performance, they had to convert to the kind-hearted performance that combines to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. In view of the 2011 Geneva Motor Show (3-13 March), the German AC Schnitzer has invented a new motto: "Efficient Performance." Efficient performance, which is a little 'rhyme with Efficient Dynamic of BMW car company specimens of which are among the favorites to Schnitzer.

In the second pavilion of the exhibition in Geneva, the holding of Aachen in fact present two new cars. They are made on the basis of the Z4 coupe and sedan Seiei 5 (550th version). These are two concept cars to express the state of the art home Schintzer AC. Although completely different, their price will be the same: 149mila €.

The AC Schnitzer 99D (the one with the body of the Z4) uses the mechanics of the BMW 320d Efficient Dynamics, revised and corrected in the factory of Aachen. Maximum power of 140 kW (190 hp), maximum torque of 420 Nm, acceleration 0-100 km / h in 6.9 seconds and CO2 emissions amounted to 99.18 g / km.

The combined fuel consumption of 3.8 l/100 km is, a value reached thanks to the reduced mass of 230 kg. The ACS5 Sport Sedan S is credited with 397 kW (540 hp) maximum power and 750 Nm of torque. From zero to 100 km / h in 4.5 seconds and tablet "fly" to 320 km / h. Consumption and emissions, they say the AC Schnitzer, are equal to those of the 550th series.
