Lancia Ypsilon in the U.S.? No sport in the future.

The all-new Lancia Ypsilon could be sold in the U.S. (produced in Mexico) with Chrysler: The acceptance will depend on the whole reserved for the Fiat 500 from the American public. "U.S. Can" for the Delta, the first Lancia to have been "experimentally" rebadged Chrysler. Italian styling will not be altered, the changes will be mostly aimed at gaining approval in the States.

However, for lancisti comes another cold shower: the leadership has ruled out (hopefully only for now) the return of legendary sports such as HF Integrale and Fulvia. This is because, under the leadership of the Lingotto, there would be no market for sports Lancia brand. "Customer preferences have changed over the years and they are not looking for Lancia sports." He said Rino Drogo, communications manager of the Italian brand.

Even clearer Claudio Nervi, Product Manager: "We'll leave the sports cars of Alfa Romeo to our cousins, who have the sportsmanship in their DNA. Lance is going to comfort, quality and luxury. We want to grow on the basis of these values. We are not denying our past but we need the sales.

The latter can not be provided by cars like or Fulvia HF Integrale.
