Abarth and Alfa Romeo: two concepts at Geneva

Fiat to the rescue. After several shows in the past to submit a news at a time, at the next Geneva Motor Show, the Italian group will fill their booths with many products. We already know Poker Run, we saw the Freemont and the restyling of Fiat Alfa Romeo MiTo, but it seems there are more surprises ahead.

If in fact the decision to submit the little Alfa Romeo 4C Concept we take that for now taken for granted that these new Abarth is instead a fresher news. Just over a year ago, mentioned the possibility of a coupe with the symbol of Scorpio, but nothing official had come to light and we were accompanied by numerous rumors as to make it more or less credible.

Now these items are back in the spotlight, accompanied by still more or less precise details. First things first. We said that the Alfa Romeo 4C Concept should be developed on the frame of KTX X-Bow and the latest rumors say that a body has a coupe, then the roof. What a little 'strange considering that the carbon fiber frame of the X-Box is designed for a convertible.

The same goes for the Abarth 1000 (this is the name of the concept probably Scorpio). Who knows what may have produced the Fiat designers. To merge the two concepts will be the engine, the 4-cylinder 1,750 cm3 with two power levels: 190 hp for the Abarth and 235 for the Alpha. The performance, however, may be similar because the two Abarth seats should be easier for the preparations and therefore weigh less.

It seems that the KTM will be able to finally make money with the X-Box (car surely charming but with obvious limitations, first of all an obligation to drive it wearing a helmet, not to mention the cost, over 50,000 €), by selling the frames Home to a much more important, which can reduce production costs.

Or so we hope our fans. For two small sport made in Italy mid-engined rear-wheel drive and the much coveted would finally have the joy of many.
