For the first time EuroNCAP put in the most recent series of crash tests for safety testing of electric cars too. In the test were the Mitsubishi i-MiEV, the Citroën C-Zer o and the Peugeot ion, based on the same project in design and equipment. All three have earned the rating of 4 stars on a maximum of five, then a more positive result.

In fact have not experienced any problems even if subject to the same strain of other vehicles especially with regard to the efficiency of the batteries and circuits. In the most violent shocks, there was no leakage of energy from the batteries or dangerous lightning, thanks to the presence of devices in an emergency will automatically interrupt the current.

The results of these tests have shown the great attention that the car manufacturers in the research technology for the production of electric vehicles, demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainable mobility in the future. In 2010, some hybrid cars have scored five stars, and then, thanks to increasingly advanced technologies, including electric vehicles can achieve this without difficulty.
