Fiat 500: evidence of MotorTrend

Lights and shadows in the trial in which MotorTrend put the whip to the Fiat 500, a first in the United States. The small Turin, for its size, it seems really alien to Americans: colleagues, who have put their hands on the 1.4 100 bhp (the only sale in the U.S.), open the test by defining "small" the engine, for our parameters when it comes to an average engine, maybe even overkill for a segment A.

The test car, equipped with a Sport Package including 16 "wheels, did not convince the U.S. media because of their motor performance, repeatedly laid low: the 0-60 cover the 500 miles in 9.7 is the fourth of mile from a standing start in 17.2 s, for an output rate equal to 126.5 km / h.

Notes of concern have emerged over the braking system: first stop from 60 miles, the route has cinquino 39.9 m. It went much better in terms of handling: on the steering pad, the car has generated lateral acceleration equal to 0.85 G well, using the net 28 seconds to travel the 'eight' of MotorTrend.

In terms of road behavior, the 500 tends to understeer a definite cause for concern but is never defined and always controllable with fire-gas release. Because of its low weight, the tires do not suffer too much trouble even when it is put to the whip.
