General Motors back in profit and reward employees

It seems the wind changed to the U.S. car manufacturers: the results after growth of Chrysler and Ford, General Motors also brings back a smile to senior management, employees, unions, shareholders, and not least, the U.S. government that is creditor of the company of Michigan. The figures released today by the Detroit show that the last quarter of 2010 ended with a profit of 510 million dollars, compared to a loss of 3.5 billion over the same period in 2009.

And looking at the entire year just ended, 4.7 billion of net income are well above the red of 4.4 billion suffered in 2009. And what of the 12 past months is the first profit since 2004. Go find the causes is difficult and easy at the same time can be summarized by saying that the care and rehabilitation of the good performance of the market were the main factors.

Among the happiest are perhaps the shareholders, who have seen their shares rise in value, reaching $ 2.89, driven also by the entire 2010 turnover had reached 135.59 billion dollars. The good results will be distributed to employees, who receive an average bonus of $ 3,000, lower than the $ 5,000 granted by Ford but higher than the Chrysler 750.
