MINI Cooper SD: The most powerful diesel

Only a few months since the launch of the new range of MINI and MINI Countryman and behold, the British brand has the Mini Cooper SD, which is the most powerful diesel variant of the series arriving in the spring. The new 2-liter engine from 143 hp at 4000 rpm with a torque of 300 Nm, is also available for the Clubman, the Convertible and the Countryman.

The six-speed manual gearbox but you can also choose the automatic transmission. The SD is therefore now the most powerful four-cylinder turbodiesel engine with a Euro 5, which offers a good balance between performance and fuel consumption thanks to the Brake Energy Regeneration, Automatic Start Stop function and the indicator of the Ergonomics and Safety.

The variable geometry turbocharger ensures ideal power delivery at all engine speeds. The motor MINI Cooper SD di'iniezione adopts a common-rail direct fuel injection with piezo that provides optimal preparation of the mixture in the combustion chamber. The SD accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.1 seconds with a top speed of 215 mph.

The average consumption is 23.3 km / liter in the EU test cycle with emissions of 114 g / km. Performance will vary with the SD Clubman acceleration in 8.6 seconds, a speed of 215 km / h, consumption of 22.7 km / liter and emissions of 115 g / km for the SD Convertible 8.7 seconds respectively, 210 km / h, 22.2 km / s km and 118 g CO2 per km.

Finally, the performance of SD Countryman: front-wheel drive versions are 9.3 seconds, 198 km / h. 21.7 km / l and 122 g / km, in full All4 you switch to 9.4 seconds, 195 km / h, 20.4 km / l and 130 g / km. The MINI Cooper SD in the different versions will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show.
