Morgan 3 Wheeler: return to the roots

The Morgan Motor is a studio specializing in English from the retro car craft, featuring sporty performance combined with a leadership commitment, in the past. After more than a hundred years after its foundation by Sir Frederick Stanley Morgan, the British House will lead to the upcoming Geneva Motor Show 2011 (3-13 March) 3 Wheeler, bizarre three-wheeled vehicle heir to the manufacturer's first model made of Malvern back in 1909.

Until the '30s the Morgan focused his production on three-wheel models, a mix of car and motorcycle with a tubular frame coupled with branch JAP motorcycle engines and equipped with an innovative suspension system used today. The 3 Wheeler in 2011 using the same philosophy, in particular the design, which incorporates the same stylistic Threewheeler used on the 1909: the car body is shaped like a rocket engine and the aluminum is placed in view of the vehicle along with nell'avantreno two front wheels.

The tapered tail, surrounded by two discharges in custom style, ending with the third rear wheel. The cabin has two children and found the windshield, is very nice and luxurious. The seats are upholstered in rich leather that covers a part of the facia with few details made of aluminum, while the sport has influenced aviation instrumentation.

Instead of aesthetics, the mechanics of 3 Wheeler is the latest generation, the engine used by the eccentric wheel is a three-twin "V" 1.8 liters of tap motorcycle built by S & S. This engine, mated to a 5-speed transmission produced by Mazda, delivers 115 hp pushing the car to 500 kg at a speed of 185 km / h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes just 4.5 seconds , obtained thanks to the excellent power to weight ratio available.

The engine weight is balanced by the mass of passengers and the vehicle has a baricento very low, so as to maintain a high level of sealing. During the development of the car, engineers have worked on Morgan's aluminum frame 3 Wheeler in parallel with that which will power the future EvaGT.

The result of this work has created half the size compact, easy to control, but at the same time able to excite curve after curve. The Morgan 3 Wheeler will be available starting at £ 25,000 (about € 29,250 at current exchange rates) plus tax. The price refers to the basic version and can increase considerably if you drew on the long list of customizations like the 6 special livery for the body and the many valuable materials for the interior.
