New Golf Cabrio returning in Geneva

You say and immediately think of the Karmann Volkswagen convertible. In 2009, the German coach builder was forced to declare itself insolvent and thus close the plants. But thanks to the arrival of the centuries-old manufacturer Volkswagen Teutonic is reborn from its ashes and the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, you can admire his latest creation: the Volkswagen Golf convertible, which returns a list after 8 years of absence.

The average German with folding canvas roof, replaced by Eos (whose roof was folding it, but hard) is based on the 3-door coupé from which it differs only for the roof, including the windshield angle and the design of back. The safety of the occupants no longer thinks the roll bar but a retractable mechanism, safer and less impacting on the line of the car.

The canvas roof (with hydraulic mechanism) takes just 9.5 seconds to open or close and the operation can be made up at a speed of 30 km / h. The engines available for the new Volkswagen convertible will be 6, both petrol and diesel, including 3 with BlueMotion technology. The ratings will range from 105 to 210 hp.

The entry level version of the 1.6 TDI BlueMotion is fitted with 105 hp with fuel consumption and emissions are very low: 4.4 l/100 km and 117 g / km of CO2 emitted. For marketing in Germany will have to wait for the right end of Geneva and the strike price is € 23,625.
