Opel Antara baby: the entry-level SUV in 2012

First spy photos for the new SUV entry-level model of Opel. The "Antara baby" should be based on GM's Sonic elongated platform, on which the U.S. giant is building the Chevrolet brand version of this little sport-utility destined for markets outside Europe. The small SUV Opel (GM and its variant) will likely be equipped with front-wheel drive and full and will take advantage of diesel and petrol engines in the Opel range.

The car was designed and planned by the department of research and development of GM's Korean. The same who signed the Cruze and the Beat. The forklift portrayed in these spy photos is very much disguised, however, clearly sees the Opel logo at the center of the faceplate. The design of the headlights seems to follow that of the Astra and Antara influences with Insignia.

The arrival is scheduled for 2012.
