Porsche Boxster plans an electric

Porsche wants to move forward in the challenge to develop one hundred percent electric sports. The Boxster E Protototype marks the beginning of this ambitious adventure. Incorporates two electric motors of 180 kW (245 hp each), along with a 29 kWh battery capacity. What do you think? Leave your comments, the most interesting will be published in the journal Hwy.

Alternatively, this news debate on our forums. For the moment, there is very little official data on technical specifications, but the upper echelons of Porsche have already confirmed their intention to develop a one hundred percent power. The sports car race to zero emissions is initiated by the Boxster E Prototype.

On this prototype, two have been the only published data. The first refers to its propulsion through two electric motors which in total add up to 180 kW (around 245 hp). On the other hand, electrical energy is stored in a battery-no indication of the material, but everything indicates it will be lithium-ion capacity of 29 kWh.

No data are available benefit or for autonomy between charges, but since Porsche claims that this model will have a similar performance in accelerating the Boxster S, the model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just over five seconds a maximum speed of 274 km / h. Interestingly, two years ago to celebrate the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, Porsche, Siemens and one of the most famous coaches of Porsche, Ruf, in the Swiss city had a prototype version of the 911 Targa Electric.

Is it presented in Geneva by 2011 Boxster concept version of the E? We aim to be so, but from Stuttgart have not confirmed anything about it.
