Audi present the A8 L W12 Security, reinforced version of the long-wheelbase sedan that will be available initially only with the 6.3-liter W12 engine, 500 hp, which will be accompanied by a second version in 2012, probably diesel. 5.27 meters long, the car offers a standard full-LED light clusters and is virtually hand-assembled by a group of technicians of the factory in Neckarsulm: the new A8 has been designed from the outset in order to be equipped with armor plating in order to integrate the components in the original structure and obtain the best possible results at the level of security in the event of an accident, both in terms of security and resistance to attack.
Despite the increase in weight, the A8 L W12 Security with 8-speed automatic transmission and quattro drive is capable of touching 100 km / h acceleration in 7.2 seconds with a top speed of 210 km / h and average consumption of 13.5 l/100 km, 18% better than the previous 450-hp W12. Suspension, brakes, and control electronics have been developed specifically for this release, with special tires capable of supporting weights up to 80 km / h even after damage.
The technicians take 450 hours to integrate the structures into the armored car, partially assembled, which is then printed on normal lines to complete the construction. The A8 L Security has been certified as a level of armor VR7, but some members are able to meet the standards and levels VR9 potentiometer VR10.
Despite this, the new A8 L Security is the lightest car in its class. Three specifications of the vehicle, there is a communication system with a microphone to interact with the outside without opening the windows, but the options to customize their copy are understandably large: a system for the emergency exit with an explosive charge that is blow the doors, the extinguishing system inside and outside the system to send emergency oxygen in the cockpit, a system for extracting gases from the cockpit, the engine is started remotely and accessories more "classic" as a mermaid Ensign and external LED lights.
Of course, Audi is also available to work more customization for individual customers. The interior, finished to the highest standards of the German offer an air conditioning system with ionizer quadrizona, Bose, multimedia system with satellite TV reception, fully adjustable individual rear seats with massage and full leather lining.
