BMW and PSA Peugeot-Citroen signed a joint venture to develop hybrid technologies

BMW and Peugeot-Citroen have signed an agreement to develop hybrid technologies. The new company will focus exclusively on the development and production of new hybrid automotive components, batteries electric cars, generators to power electronics, to the next generation software dedicated to saving.

The agreement between BMW and Peugeot-Citroen group has been signed by the presidents and Norbert Reithofer Philippe Varin. The latter said: "With this joint venture we are sure to build a European leader in innovation for the hybrid car." The start date for the cooperation for the development of hybrid technologies is scheduled for April and the first objective is to equip the first cars in 2014.

Will in any case a wide-ranging joint venture because it also wants to create an open platform for hybrid technologies where they will also supply materials attached to the subject. At the head of this new collaboration Bmw Peugeot-Citroen was put Wolfgang Güllich, currently Head of the purchasing strategy of BMW, and Jean Leflour, now director of Customer Satisfaction and Quality Planning Group Peugeot-Citroen.

The first one will be appointed CEO, the second CEO.
