Chrysler merger Fiat, Marchionne: "The management will remain in Turin"

Sergio Marchionne has assured the Minister of Labour, Maurizio Sacconi, the industry-to be born from any merger of Chrysler and Fiat, will have its headquarters in Turin. In recent days, in fact, the CEO of the Chrysler Fiat group had suggested to start the merger of the two groups as soon extinguished the debts with the U.S.

government. The initial hypothesis was, however, a possible relocation of the head of the company in Detroit, thereby causing a violent reaction of trade unions and political, of course concerned about the possible expulsion by the Italian headquarters in Turin. The CGIL, represented by Susan Camusso said the government should have sought the guarantees to Fiat, Landini and Mauritius, the FIOM, said he was initially concerned that the will expressed by the Fiat could not be the development of production at home, but the desire to leave Italy.

Also a harsh reaction from the world of politics, especially by Pierluigi Bersani, secretary of the Democratic Party, which wants to have as soon as possible explanations are clear and unambiguous as to the fate of the Fiat group and will Marchionne, Fiat because it receives substantial investment by the state.

Critical of Antonio Di Pietro Italia dei Valori, who reiterated that the Fiat group living in public money and should not use this money to transfer the corporate ladder in America and production in low-cost labor.
