Fiat's Marchionne convened by the Government

Hot Week for Sergio Marchionne's declaration after the United States regarding a possible future merger between Chrysler and Fiat, Premier Silvio Berlusconi at Palazzo Chigi has called the Italian-Canadian manager for clarification about the situation and take stock of 'company in Italy. According to the Minister for Economic Development, Paolo Romani, the government "will do everything to Fiat remains an Italian multinational and that Turin does not become a branch of Detroit." The summit meeting should take place later this week, just to give you time to Marchionne boarding the plane and cross the Atlantic to meet, as well as Berlusconi, also the Secretary to the Prime Minister, Gianni Letta, Minister Romani , Economy Minister Giulio Tremonti and that of Labour, Maurizio Sacconi.

Just to the latter, the CEO of the group had set out the draft of the four global design headquarters: Detroit to North America, Brazil to South America, Italy for Europe and a state to be defined for the East Asia. At this point one wonders if the 20 billion euros of investments in Italy Marchionne promised to be true or is only a "joke".

For its part, Marchionne has been made fully aware that doing business in Italy is much more difficult than doing it in the United States where even the unions "Auto workers" applauded the courageous plan for the relaunch of the Fiat. Once you have repaid the debts with the governments of USA and Canada (respectively 5.8 and $ 1.3 billion), Fiat will rise to 51% of Chrysler.

Experts believe that in 2 or 3 years at most everything can be effective. But Marchionne puntenterebbe control before the end of 2011.
