Toyota will attend the Geneva Motor Show 2011 with their new hybrid bets: the Yaris and the Prius HSD +. In the first, the Japanese hybrid technology moves the segment of utilities, while the Prius + is to be the seven-seater version. Toyota returns to show off its hybrid technology Hybrid Synergy Drive (HSD).
In the next edition of the Geneva Motor Show, will make its world debut the new Yaris and Prius HSD +. The HSD Yaris is Toyota's new hybrid bet in the segment B or utilities, the largest percentage of sales in Europe. For now, Japan's brand has not announced any type of data the Yaris hybrid, although it is expected that the levels of consumption and CO2 emissions to be announced will be lower than the most popular hybrid, the Prius.
In Geneva, we will only see the prototype version of the Yaris HSD-yet unknown when will the market. The range of Toyota hybrid will also be extended to a minivan: the Prius +. Like the Yaris HSD, no official data have been published about this new car. In last year's Detroit show, it introduced the Prius Concept V, a larger version and interior space than the model we already know.
The name under which Europe will be Prius + and have the capacity to seven occupants, but for the moment has not yet been confirmed as the same car that made its U.S. debut. The Concept of Detroit V measured 4.61 meters long (15 cm more than the Prius III), 1.77 m wide (3 cm) and 1.57 m in height (8 cm).
For its part, the wheelbase is also growing, particularly over 7 cm battle to stand at 2.77 m (in the Prius III, 2.70 m). With these data, it is more than likely that the final data Prius + calque in its U.S. counterpart. What one has dared to confirm Toyota's next: the Prius + is the seven-seat minivan lower consumption in the European market.
We therefore hope the next Geneva Motor Show for the publication of all final data for these two hybrid cars. What do you think? Leave your comments, the most interesting will be published in the journal Hwy. Alternatively, this news debate on our forums.
