Until a few years ago seemed almost science fiction, but today the car with zero emissions are gaining even more sports segments and more famous brands. The last chapter of this new book was written in the last few days that brought a Porsche electric concept called "Boxster" and built on the basis of appreciation of the House of spyder Zuffenhausen.
This interesting prototype will be the first in a series of 3 cars which are to be tested as part of an interesting sustainable mobility project, sponsored by the German regional government and in collaboration with the manufacturer Teutonic. The car was presented by CEO of Porsche, Matthias Muller, in the presence of regional authorities including Stefan Mappus, prime minister of Baden-Württemberg.
The objective is to achieve environmentally sustainable new solutions specifically designed for the urban realities of German cities in order to direct future investments in infrastructure to facilitate the dissemination of such cars. The Porsche Boxster and is aesthetically the same as the version powered by an internal combustion engine.
The weight of the car and the central provision of the engine, in fact, allowed to adapt to the new mechanics in a simple manner. The German Spyder is equipped with two electric motors capable of delivering a total power of 180 kW and powered by lithium ion batteries from 29 kph. According to the manufacturer and the Boxster would have performance comparable to that of the sister sport "Boxster S", an acceleration from 0 to 100 in just over 5 seconds and a top speed in the range of 260-270 km / h.
But these are only indicative since the House has not skewed the performance values of the car, and especially did not report any data on the autonomy of the car, one of the main limits of the cars to electric traction.
