Rocketman Mini Concept Geneva

Mini at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show (3-13 March) will give fans a brand of futuristic concept called Rocketman reminiscent of the compact size of the Mini in 1959, combined with innovative solutions, both technical and stylistic, designed for urban mobility future. Far less than three feet (3.49 m) wide, 1,90 m 1.39 m high, the Rocketman is presented with a three-door body that houses a cabin with 3 seats plus 1.

Aesthetically, the new MINI Concept show car offers solutions as a unique system for opening the front doors that are "away" from the car body along the direction, while the tailgate is divided into two parts: the lower open as if was a convenient drawer, but the upper one is incerniata in the roof and occupies a good portion.

The latter is made entirely of glass and is decorated with light emitting diodes that make up the reasons for the British flag. Another distinctive feature of this prototype is certainly given by the imaginative special lamps with LED technology, particularly the rear ones are presented with a special horseshoe-shaped, while the stop and tail light are projected on the body, giving a stage effect truly remarkable.

A sporty touch is instead given by the special alloy wheels "XX" 18 ", made of alloy and carbon fiber. Inside are three individual seats instead sliding in the longitudinal and the fourth additional seat can be completely reversed in order to provide an additional load floor. The key internal reproduce the typical futuristic styles Mini, the major controls are placed on the multifunction steering wheel, center console is a special place instead removable control unit called the "Seed Concept", which incorporates the features dedicated to air conditioning, sound system and satellite navigation.

All these functions can be configured easily from home using your personal computer, thus updating the settings in the Internet. The Anglo-German House did not disclose specific details of the mechanical and technical Rocketman, the only information speak of a special carbon spaceframe chassis designed to make the Mini Light and efficient, so as to achieve fuel consumption within the threshold of 3 liters per 100 km route.
