Rocketman MINI Concept: new dimension

MINI is a Rocketman Geneva with the Concept, a modern study that reflects the spirit, however, the dimensions and proportions of the classic MINI, the original model introduced by Alec Issigonis in 1959 that revolutionized the design of small cars. A three-door four-seater car a little longer than 3 meters (3.419 to 1.907 meters wide and 1.398 high) which is the ideal car for the city of tomorrow, compact but able to offer generous interior space.

The body is in carbon with spaceframe architecture and side doors with double-hinged joint and integrated sill, thanks to their length and the particular configuration of the rocker panels, they offer a very wide opening angle for easy access in even the rear seats. Particular also the opening of the tailgate in two parts, one attached to the roof and a lower cabinet that comes out like a drawer.

The projectors are the same size and same shape as those of the classic Mini, but with LEDs inserted in the center. The rear lights trapezoidal form of the brackets that integrate all aspects of lighting. The profile takes up the familiar image of MINI Series models. The 18-inch rims are lighter and designed specifically for the Rocketman.

The glass roof is divided into sticks that light up and take over the reason for the British flag. Inside the seats have the typical anatomy MINI comfort even in sporty driving. The space can be organized as needed by the three individual seats and sliding lengthwise and fold the rear seat completely.

Innovative instrumentation: a rev counter and the display that displays the information of the onboard computer are combined into an instrument placed on the steering wheel where you focus all the commands. In the race the right of the steering wheel was added a trackball that allows you to perform many operations depending on the direction of rotation.

Navigation systems, communications and entertainment of the MINI Concept Rocketman represent the development of the functions already available within the MINI Connected. As for the engine there are no details but only an indication that it will be a brilliant and efficient engine, with fuel consumption of about 3 liters per 100 km.

You might think of a unit as the BMW brand is developing a new range of three-cylinder petrol and turbo diesel common rail direct injection. It is unknown whether this study will become a future production model but it is known that in the programs of the brand's intention to reduce the current MINI range.
