During the spring still a ways off, have many classic cars on the upcoming season, be prepared to go in a variety of vintage car events at the start. Also this year the team of Classic Volkswagen is back with it. The launch of the 2011 season falls on 31 March at the Techno Classica in Essen. There, the presentation of Volkswagen convertible with genes is the focus of the booth.
One of the highlights of the season takes place between the 12th and 15 May in Italy instead. In the Mille Miglia, one of the world's most beautiful and historic motor sport events, Volkswagen sent in addition to numerous classics of the Group's brands a legend on the route from Brescia to Rome: the traditional historic built so-called "Straehle - beetles.
The original won in 1954 with the Swabian racer Paul-Ernst Strähle driving the 1300 sports car class and inspired one of the competition with their larger and more powerful vehicles respect. By late summer of 2011 more other dates are on the program: Even with the Kitzbühel Alps Rally (25 to 29 May), the "Auto Zeitung Youngtimer Tour" (3 to 4 June), the Silvretta Classic (7 to 10 .
July) and Sachsen Classic (18 to 20 August) the classical department of VW with numerous vehicles from the "rolling museum" at the start. The crowning season is mid-September following the third-backed Volkswagen Schloss Bensberg Classics with a high class occupied Concours d'Elegance and a rally through the countryside.
